Miami Heat basketball star Dwayne Wade's nephew was shot in a Chicago day of violence shoot out that left 13 other men shot and 2 dead...
This violent shoot out took place during a bloodthirsty six-hour stretch of shootings in Chicago, where numerous people got hurt.
Dwayne Wade, a native of Chicago, confirmed his nephew was one of six men shot at a convenience store on the city's South side Thursday night by hooded men who fled in an SUV.
One man died at the scene and four others --all between the ages of 16 to 24 -- were in critical condition. There were three other shooting incidents Thursday in Chicago where gun violence has been on the rise. Wade's nephew, whose name was not disclosed, was hospitalized.
"You never expect to a get a call like that," Wade said after the game. "Something I always focus on with my foundation when I go back to Chicago is to do what I can to stop the violence. To have one of your own family members be involved in it, it hurts. I just thank God that he's healthy. ... Thank God he's going to get another chance."
The shooting comes a week after Wade, LeBron James and Heat teammates wore hoodies to show their support for Trayvon Martin.
Smh...for them having the nerve to mention Trayvon Martin with this Chicago shoot out by "hoodied men"!
Are they trying to insinuate that Geraldo Rivera was right about saying that wearing hoodies = thugs (click Pink for more), and THAT is why Trayvon Martin is justly dead?
The dayum nerve of some people! <fuming>
